Polish painter, illustrator. Author of a number of monumental in scale stained glass and polychromy
in sacred spaces. Curator and arranger of many exhibitions of contemporary and ancient art, monographic and problematic. Studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, graduated with honors in the studio of Adam Marczyński. For 46 years, he has been a pedagogue affiliated with his alma mater. Currently a professor at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He made his debut in the mid-70s. Characteristic of his painting is the combination of different materials and painting textures, as well as finding connections between object-image and physical space. The artist accomplishes this not only through the use of non-standard shapes of works, but by creating environments, installations of dialogue
and context with the environment.
His abstract paintings, put into cycles, are characterized by expressive gestures, strong, saturated colors and differentiation of textures. Adam Brincken's paintings, regardless of
of physical size have a monumental expression, give a sense of space and dynamics. He has exhibited in many countries of Europe and the world. The artist's works can be found, among others, in the collections of the National Museum in Cracow, the Museum of Art in Lodz, the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art in Cracow, the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and other public and private collections in Poland and abroad.
He was awarded the Silver Medal for "Meritorious Service to Culture Gloria Artis".
The series "Stone and Something" can be described as an emotional journey into the inner structure of stone being here a symbol of permanent presence, permanence beyond time. The stone in Adam Brincken's works symbolically loses its external obvious form, so to speak, revealing what is inside. Intense colors and a certain luminosity of this inner structure speak of the need for deep experiences about what touches us which makes us not indifferent which illuminates our inner emotional structure. This series invites us to look, experience and feel more deeply.
