Wraps slightly rubbed, local browning of paper. Stamp. "According to sources cited by Duchinsky, a drunken Tsar Peter I forced his way with soldiers into the Uniate Cathedral of Divine Wisdom in Polotsk, where the relics of Saint Josaphat Kuncevich were kept. Peter I demanded from the superior of the monastery the keys to the tabernacle, and when he refused, he murdered the prior with his own hands; he ordered the four remaining monks to be drowned in the currents of the Dvina River [...]. This event reverberated among the population of the eastern lands of the Republic, and the Uniate clergy, fearing the approaching Russian army, were forced to leave Polotsk" (Wikipedia).
