[LONDON GOVERNMENT]. A set of memorabilia, photographs, letters, related to the headquarters of the Polish government in exile at 43 Eaton Place in London. They come from a donation made before her death by Ewelina Zaleska, wife of August Zaleski (President of the Polish government in exile from 1947-1972) to Maria Stroud (a staff member at the headquarters of the Polish government in exile in London during the presidency of Edward Raczynski). The set includes:

1) Edward Raczynski'sautograph, folded in blank on a print of the thanks of the President of the Republic, ca. 1980; part-b. print on stiff paper, embossed image of the white eagle in the crown at the top, condition bdb.; dimensions: 150x100 mm.

Edward Bernard Raczynski (1891-1993) - Polish diplomat, politician and writer, president of the Polish Republic in exile from 1979 to 1986. He came from a family of prominent landowners of Greater Poland. From 1919 an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; he was at diplomatic missions in Copenhagen, London and Geneva. From 1932, he represented the Republic of Poland as a permanent delegate to the League of Nations in Geneva, then ambassador of the Republic of Poland in London, and from 1941 to 1943 as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Co-organizer and member of the Council of Three.

2) Offering catalog, showing the seat of the Polish government-in-exile in London - the mansion at 43 Eaton Place (now in private hands), 28 May 2000; includes a detailed description of the mansion and color. Photographs depicting its interiors; 8 nlb. st. (including two fold-outs), softcover; format: 4o.

3) 4 color photos depicting Maria Stroud, of Polish descent, acting as administrator of the building, in the interiors of the seat of the government-in-exile, 1980s; st. bdb., on one of the photos the sticker is partially torn off; photo dimensions: 131x88 mm.

4) Correspondence of Maria Stroud - list of contact numbers for ministers of the government in exile at Christmas, no date (period of Kazimierz Sabbat's third government, 1979-1983).
