Color chromolithography, dimensions 45 x 70 cm, signed p. d. on plate "L. Wyczólkowski Poznań 1929"
Leon Wyczółkowski (1852-1936), a well-known painter, graphic artist and draughtsman, was commissioned in 1929 to create a series of works forming the so-called graphic "Teka Poznań" with views of the city's most important buildings and their interiors. Presented during the General National Exhibition, it gained great popularity. The view of the Old Market Square in Poznań and the Poznań City Hall later found its way into the 1933 portfolio, published for the Congress of Naturalists and Physicians. At the same time, a number of watercolors were created, which were the prototypes for graphic works, and these later found their way onto postcards or, published in larger formats and small editions, decorated Poznan houses and offices.
