Biography
One of the legends of artistic life in the 1960s and 1970s in Warsaw.
In 1962-68 he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Initially he studied sculpture in the studio of Alfred Jesion, and then painting under Jan Wodyński and Jan Cybis, in whose studio he received his diploma. From 1971 he also studied stage design. During this period he met the artist Jan Dobkowski, with whom he formed the Neo-Neo-Neo Group, active in 1965-70. Jurry and Dobkowski, on the one hand, rejected the academic training profile, which was based on the orthodox colorism of Polish painters, while on the other hand they parodied the pompous artistic manifestos of the avant-garde artists of their time. Jurry died tragically at the age of 37.
