The Zamoyski Ordynacja Library existed from 1811 to 1944 in the Blue Palace in Warsaw. Its creator was Stanislaw Kostka Zamoyski. He donated the collections of the castle library (which, after the Zamoyska Academy was closed in 1784, included the collections of its library). The new library building (the palace pavilion) was built in 1868.It was partially destroyed on September 25, 1939 during the fire of the palace after the bombardment of the city. After being set on fire by the Germans on September 8, 1944, it was almost completely destroyed. About 1,800 volumes were saved from the entire book collection. The last Ordinate Jan Tomasz Zamoyski donated the surviving part of the collection to the National Library.
