Graduate of, among others, the Italian Academy of Fine Arts-Accademia di Belle Arti di Santa Giulia di Brescia in northern Italy, creator of the Szałkowska Design brand, artist and designer. Shortly after graduating, she lived on the Côte d'Azur for new inspiration. She currently creates in Warsaw.
Born 4.11.1992 in Olsztyn. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, she spent a total of two years in Italy. She also studied at IPB University in northern Portugal in Bragança. In 2018. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts at UWM in Olsztyn: in silk painting in the studio of Prof. Marek Szczęsny and specializing in photography under Prof. Janusz Połom. Finalist in the competition for young artists of the XXIII edition of the Premio Treccani in Italy, prize awarded in the category of photography for a photo from the series "The Woman". The awarded photo was exhibited in Italy, including at the Museo Lechi in Montichiari Castle at the exhibition of finalists of the aforementioned competition. Although Dominika is a young artist, she has already had solo and group art exhibitions in Italy, Poland and Portugal. The Polish and Italian press have also published articles and an interview with her about her work. During the vernissage of the individual exhibition "Art by Young S" at the Service Gallery Jazz Bar in Olsztyn, there was a presentation of practically all of her work-photography, painting, and including a debut show of hand-painted silk fabrics. Her fabrics and creations were also presented in Italy.
During her study period, she developed her craft in all areas of visual arts such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, film and multimedia. Painting and drawing have always been her passion, starting from early childhood. She is interested in fashion and design. Her adventure with photography began initially on the other side of the lens-as a model, but starting her art studies, she fell in love with this technique from the very first lesson in the studio. Currently, her portfolio features mostly abstract art, which Dominika really loves, but some of her realistic images are still available.
