Patinated bronze, bone, marble (base). 25 cm high. Signed on base: "P. Tereszczuk" and earlier with foundry mark "TU" (Tereszczuk-Ullmann).
Dated: first quarter of the 20th century.
An outstanding example of a bronze by the famous Austrian sculptor and designer.
Peter Tereszczuk (1875-1963) - Austrian sculptor of Ukrainian origin. At a young age he went to Vienna, where he studied and created, representing mainly the Art Nouveau trend there. He became famous mainly for figures made of bronze and ivory, with representations of women, children.
