Wojtek Siudmak was born in 1942 in Wieluń, Poland. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1961-1966). In 1966 he settled in France, where he continued his studies at the Parisian Ecole des beaux-arts (1967-1968). To this day, he continues to live and work in France. He is considered one of the most important representatives of fantasy realism, although he describes himself more as a fantasy hyperrealist. He has received many awards and decorations for his work (including the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland), and his works have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions around the world. Two permanent exhibition halls are dedicated to his work: at the Regional Museum in Wieluń and at the Musée de l'Imaginaire in Château de Ferrières (France).
