Graphic artist and illustrator, born November 13, 1899 in Kalisz, died August 18, 1988 in Warsaw. He studied art at the State School of Decorative Arts in Poznań (1922-1923) and at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 1923-1929, in the studios of professors Miłosz and Mieczysław Kotarbiński and Władysław Skoczylas. Since 1926 he was a member of the Association of Graphic Artists "Ryt". In 1933-1939 he taught drawing courses at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Mieczyslaw Kotarbinski. Since 1946 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1955 he became a corresponding member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, and in 1965 he received honorary membership of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Individual exhibitions of the artist's works were presented in numerous countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
