After graduating from the School of Drawing in Warsaw, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, in the studio of Leon Wyczółkowski. He supplemented his studies in Paris and St. Petersburg. In 1917, he returned to Poland. In 1924 he took a position as a teacher of drawing and handwork, at the State Humanistic Gymnasium in Grudziadz. Among other things, he drew caricatures, which he published in national satirical magazines, including the pages of "Mucha". And " from our sea "he was closely associated with the Grudziadz magazine for young people "From our sea". In 1932, he founded the School of Painting and Decorating in Grudziadz.
