Postal correspondence field card form. 9x14 cm, stamped: "K. u K. 18. Korpskommando", sent as Feldpost No. 421, dated. Nov. 3, 1916. Zagorski informs his mother about the current situation ("I have similar news, although it is for a much later time prepared. I'm only sad that Julo is taking a false path, I'm also extremely sorry that I couldn't see him." - ["Something is cooking..." - referring to the prepared act of declaring the independence of the Polish Kingdom, the so-called Manifesto of the Two Emperors of November 5, 1916; "Julo takes the false road" - a reference to the older brother Juliusz Ostoi-Zagórski (1878-1919) commander of the 2nd regiment of lancers of the Polish Legions, since 1917 major of cavalry of the Polish Army; an allusion to the heated period that prevailed in the Legions after Pilsudski's resignation]). Very good condition.
W. Ostoja-Zagórski (1882-1927) - son of Jan the January insurgent and Anna Kozlow, a lady of the Romanov court. Intelligence officer of the Austrian army, from 1914 chief of staff of the Command of the Polish Legions, conflicted with Jozef Pilsudski, participant in the Bolshevik war, brigadier general of the Polish Army, involved in a corruption scandal in the army, imprisoned in Vilnius after the May Coup, disappeared in unexplained circumstances after his release from prison.
