Lot description
acrylic on canvas, 80 x 60 cm, signed lower left: Adrianna Mielnik

Adrianna Mielnik is a student in the five-year Interior Architecture program at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. At the same time, she is developing her artistic practice, focusing primarily on painting, which has been a significant part of her work for many years.
Her interest in art began in childhood, and her first artistic inclinations were recognized by a sculptor who was a friend of the family. From that moment on, drawing and painting became a natural way for the artist to express her emotions and personal experiences. Each painting captures a specific emotional state and attempts to convey what is difficult to express in words.
Vincent van Gogh’s art had a major influence on the development of her work. Initially inspired by Post-Impressionism, she eventually turned her attention to Impressionism and Expressionism, finding her own painterly language. Currently, she creates primarily portraits and self-portraits, focusing on human psychology, emotions, and mood. A characteristic element of her work is the deliberate distortion of figures, which serves to enhance expressiveness. Her professors have repeatedly noted associations between her painting and the work of Francis Bacon.
The artist is constantly seeking new means of expression and is currently developing her painting technique in oil as well. The human psyche and the complexity of human emotions remain her primary sources of inspiration.
Her works have been exhibited in collaboration with the DESA auction house. At the same time, she is expanding her artistic reach by sharing her work on social media and gradually reaching an ever-wider audience. In her art, she leaves room for individual interpretation, believing that a work achieves its greatest value when a personal dialogue arises between the artist and the viewer.
