Sugar bowl supported on four tall hoofed feet with palmettes at the base, with a hemispherical top covered with a belt of palmette ornamentation, tapered at the top, with a slightly arched lid topped with an artichoke, with two shell-decorated handles at the sides.
The founder of the company was Jules Boivin. After his death, he was succeeded by his son Victor, who from 1897 ran the company together with his brother Roger. At exhibitions (L'exposition Universelle) in Paris in 1867 and 1889, the company received gold and silver medals and awards.
