Portrait of the portraited woman framed full-length against a curtain and balustrade. She is supporting her hands on a column. She is dressed in a long black dress of lustreless fabric, with long sleeves, a built-in bodice, a white collar and a brooch under her neck. In the lower left corner of the backing, underneath the photo, printed: "G. Sachowicz." Photo pasted on original cardboard backing. Minor stains, good condition overall.
G. Sachowicz (1819-1877) - painter, miniaturist, portraitist, photographer, owner of Warsaw photographic establishments at 4 Mazowiecka Street (in 1855-1864) and at 1 Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, next to Holy Cross Church. He published photographic reproductions of paintings.
