Slawomir Biela (born 10.12.1970)- is a self-taught artist, and what plays in his soul is his sensitivity to nature. In his works it is often not the subject that counts, but the way of rendering the falling light, which he depicts on canvas in a delightful, extremely realistic way. He also likes to paint winter-white snow, which has a multitude of shades. I paint winter often, I still feel unsatisfied. As my artist friend says, "winter needs to be understood"- says Slawomir Biala.
The village where he grew up, Kromnów, also appears quite often in his paintings. The subject reflects a certain longing, associated with childhood and carefree life. He has lived in Karpacz since 1977 and often paints the KArkonosze Mountains, at the foot of which he lives. Still lifes also appear in Slawomir Biel's work. This subject matter is engaging, the illuminated objects look beautiful, the artist admits.
