Painter, sculptor, interior designer and conservationist. In 1945-1947, as a free student of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, he took classes in painting (with Prof. Jan Wodyński and Prof. Bronisław Jamontt) and sculpture (with Prof. Tadeusz Godziszewski). Then, for a period of one year, he studied painting and drawing at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Sopot. After that, he took up studies at the University of Torun (1948-1952), ending with a diploma in sculpture, conservation and monumentology. In 1953-57, he served as provincial conservator of monuments in Koszalin, after which he devoted himself to teaching - for the next 20 years he taught painting at the State Visual Culture Center and the State High School of Visual Arts in Koszalin. Since 1957, he was an active member of ZPAP. He also played an important role in the field of organizing the annual International Meetings of Artists, Scientists and Theorists of Art in Osieki, which took place from 1963 to 1981 and brought together the most prominent representatives of the Polish avant-garde. Six times he was their commissioner (1968-69, 1975-78) influencing the selection of participants and the program of the meetings. He took part in more than 30 collective and 11 individual exhibitions. The artist's works are included in the permanent exhibition "Osieki 1963-1981" at the Museum in Koszalin and the Kroppedal Museum in Denmark. In addition to practicing easel painting, he has also realized many works in the field of public interior design and monumental painting. For his active, multidirectional activity, he has received numerous awards: Gold Cross of Merit, ZPAP Gold Badge, Meritorious Cultural Activist.
