"Six different kinds of leftovers gathered in a "pink balance" is a work from the soap architecture series. The fleeting moment of peace and stability imprinted on the canvas lasts in the metaphysical space of the painting as if forever. This slippery wet soap slips and the structure breaks. We look at the picture and see the smooth shapes of the remnants, hands have smoothed the shape and transformed the soap into a kind of marble sculpture. Smoothness and avoidance of sharp forms is the way humans interact with soap matter, each of us becomes a soap sculptor. For me, as the author of this work, it is important to find a balance between the painterly and sculptural character of the soap pyramid, to create a tactile sensation through the color, plasticity and surface of the painting layer. This balance between the artist's artistic means of expression is shaky and short-lived, like everything else in our lives. And the moment lasts..." Simeon Motolianiec

Simeon Motolianiec 1982, Brest, Belarus
Works in the genres of performance, installation and object. And also in such techniques as painting, printmaking and video.

Graduate of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Art and Design at the Faculty of Painting
Monumental and Decorative Painting /2009/, as well as the "School of the Young Artist" of the St. Petersburg Pro Arte Foundation /2012/. Creator (together with D. Petukhov) of the art group "Soap".

Winner of the "Innovations 2009" Award in the nomination "New Generation" (within the group "SOAP"). Laureate of
Awards. S. Kuryokhina, Prize of the French Institute / 2018 / for the project "Very artificial choice". Member of the "Open Studio Nepokorennye 17", as well as the association "PARASIT" / since 2007 /.
