Bust of a lady in the "Belle Époque" type: hair pinned up in a high bun and curls covering the ears; dress with triangular neckline and ruffled sleeves - wings, girdled with a bow at the narrow waist. Signature on the back: "van der Straeten"; below, circular guarantee stamp with inscription in the rim: "SOCIETE DES BRONZES DE PARIS".
The artist was Belgian, active in Paris since 1883 exhibiting his works at the Paris Salon exhibitions from 1885 to 1912.
