The head of the saint.
Drawing on paper. (19th century). Dimensions: 21 x 17 cm.
Head with profillu to the right with long wavy hair and halo. On the back by the artist's hand the inscription: "From Leonardo Vinci". Antoni Oleszczyński (1794-1879), printmaker, author of copperplates and intaglio. He studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg in the studio of N.I. Utkin, from 1825 in Paris in the studio of J.B. Régnault and J.T. Richomme′, from 1829 in Florence. He settled permanently in Paris. Commissioned by the United States government, he designed and engraved banknotes. Correct side pasted vertically with gold strip. Good condition.
