The main character of the work "Fir Forest is the narrator, and at the same time the porte parole of the author himself. He spins memories of his childhood. He grew up in the Kielce region. He recalls the mountains he walked on in his youth: Łysica, Klonowa, Kamień. He recalls his youth as a life of innocence, pure in its simplicity. Until he comes to the conclusion that he of years ago is not the same man as today. The old times and the nature he recalls appear to him like a fairy tale.
