Publication devoted to the activities and breakdown of the Pogotowia Patriotów Polskich - "a Polish nationalist and anti-Semitic organization of a clandestine nature founded by Jan Pękoslawski in the fall of 1922. It constituted the first Polish organization modeled on fascist parties. The association was mainly concerned with the surveillance of communist and Jewish activists [...]. The organization had about 800 members, mostly from Warsaw. The organization was based on military discipline and the principle of nomination. Absolute obedience was required of its members. The clandestine nature of the Pogotow was emphasized by rituals held in the basements of Warsaw churches. The activities of the PPP were monitored by the Sejm committee on secret organizations [...]. It was established, among other things, that meetings of members were held in the basement of the Capuchin church, and that those who joined took an oath on a cross, which, among other things, was to be kissed by Eligiusz Niewiadomski before his execution. On the night of January 11-12, 1924, PPP members were arrested; their trial took place two years later. The activities of the organization were not a complete secret, and part of the second government of Wladyslaw Grabski knew about it. After the liquidation of the PPP, activists began to gather in small organizations under the auspices of the clandestine Order of Knights of the Law, established in 1921. In 1924, the Military Organization of Polish Fascists (WOFP) was formed, renamed the Polish Fascist Organization (POF) in April 1925." (Wikipedia). Rare.
