E. 32, 482. Minor rubbing of spine, minor stains. Old stamps and own notes. "The work consists of 33 chapters and an Apendix (in honor of the 33 years of Christ), in which the author demonstrates the differences of the Jewish and Christian religions, and debunks the beliefs of the Jews. So about the Messiah (he is the true God), about Christ and his mission as to the salvation of the world, about the prophecies concerning Christ, about his ascension, about the mission of the apostles; Christ the new lawgiver, the ancient biblical law abolished, the abolition of circumcision, Sabbaths, blood sacrifices, about the worship of holy images; the Talmud contains blasphemies; it sins against reason and good morals; the second coming of Christ; about the causes of Jewish blindness. The Talmud quotes and cites from it some beliefs, but it seems to be second-hand (from the writings of St. Jerome and from other apologetic writers) [...]. From more recent literature, he knows and quotes the works of converts Nicolai Lyrani, Cornelius a Lapide, Louis of Granada, Jerome de Sancta Fide (ex Judaeo Christiani), Petri Alphunsi (similarly), Mariani Costeni, Sebastian Cieszkowski. It is from them that he draws his information about the Talmud [...]. Throughout this work he combats the beliefs of the 'Talmudists' very harshly - but reserves himself against the idea that Jews should be hated and persecuted" (Estreicher).
