[bibliophile's SMALLPRINTINGS ]. Collection of 121 small prints issued by bibliophile societies from 1923 until the outbreak of war.
Prints (invitations, greetings, reports, modest catalogs) issued mainly by the Society of Book Lovers in Cracow and the Society of Polish Bibliophiles in Warsaw, often in sophisticated graphic design, sometimes with graphic prints (e.g., with a signed etching by Stanislaw Jakubowski). The group includes, for example: an article On love, respect for books. A plan for a talk; an invitation to a lecture on "A Soldier and a Book"; the Program of the First Congress of Polish Bibljophiles in Cracow; the Program and Rules of Procedure of the Second Congress of Polish Bibljophiles in Warsaw; the Program of the Third Congress of Polish Bibljophiles in Lviv; an invitation to a lecture by T. Przypkowski "Graphic postulates of the genesis of ex-libris"; letter of the Bibliophile Council on the alleged plan to sell the Pelplin piece of the Gutenberg Bible; invitation to the "meeting of bibliophiles"; result list of the first auction of the Polish Bibliophile in II 1925; invitation to the lecture of K. Witkiewicz on the artistic and graphic activity of B. Lenart; information about bibliophile trip to E. Zegadłowicz in Gorzeń Górny; announcement of a pre-payment for "Silva Rerum"; invitation to the "second Great Auction of Etchings"; catalog of TMK publications from 1926. All in a half-fold old folder with an ex-libris of J. Doliński. Briefcase slightly rubbed, prints in very good condition.
