[SZYMBORSKA Wisława]. Wisława Szymborska's handwritten "pastedown" with wishes addressed to Danuta Herbert-Ulam in Paris, dated. December 22, 1990 in Cracow.
Sheet of stiff cream paper form. 14.7x10.4 cm. On one side glued cut out from a magazine two women's feet with glued eyes. On the back handwritten correspondence signed "Visława". Knowing of the addressee's ailments, Szymborska writes: "I am sending you spare healthy legs," with the comment: "This is such a silly joke, but you know how much I want you to be healthy." Preserved original envelope hand-addressed by Szymborska. The addressee of the correspondence is Danuta Herbert-Ulam, Zbigniew Herbert's cousin and wife of prominent physicist Juliusz Ulam. Very good condition.
W. Szymborska (1923-2012) - poet, essayist, critic, translator, columnist, winner of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1996, founder of the Polish Writers' Association in 1989.
