August III of Saxony, 1755 EC, Leipzig – rare
On the obverse, a bust in profile facing right, wearing a crown and armor.
On the reverse, a crowned coat-of-arms shield. Below the shield, the denomination “VI” and the initials “E–C” (Ernest Dietrich Croll—Master of the Leipzig Mint).
A smaller bust, clad in armor with three rings, featuring a plain shoulder guard and a plain ribbon of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
The crown fields on the obverse and reverse are plain, with pendants in the central fields.
Oval clasp brooch.

Condition: 2-/2
Minor flaws in the metal, but for this type, the coin is beautifully struck and well-preserved. A rare variant of the bust. An attractive piece.
