Włodzimierz BOROWCZYK
b. 1945 Grodzisk Mazowiecki
In 1970 he received his diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of T. Tuszewski. He has repeatedly exhibited his works at home and abroad, including and at the Debut Salon in Warsaw (1969), at London's Grabowski Gallery and Drian Gallery (1974), at the Museum de Zalm in Mechelen (1980). He is considered a continuator of Polish Colorism, juxtaposes strong colors, and is always inspired by nature. At first he painted mainly still lifes, later mainly landscapes. This painting, sensual, with a rich, sometimes even sculptural texture. color remains the most important issue for him. Borowczyk is fond of strong juxtapositions of reds and yellows, browns and blacks, violets and Parisian blues. At the same time, he does not fall into superficial aestheticism, as living nature remains an invariable source of inspiration for him.
