Biography
The artist studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 1977, he settled in France. For over 30 years, he lived and worked in Paris, where he developed his distinctive style. His artistic pseudonym, Delarue, means “from the street” in French (la rue – Fr. street). The artist portrays streets, cafés, and gateways rather than people. He is interested in dilapidated places, cracked plaster, and faded inscriptions. The artist presents us with his own vision of Paris. His works are part of the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris and the Dal Fiume Dante in Bologna. They have been featured in numerous exhibitions in France, England, and the United States.
