Larry Poons, associated with the Op-Art and Color Field Painting movements, is an established artist in the contemporary art world.
His work has been exhibited in major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Whitney Museum in New York.
The artist also appeared as one of the protagonists in Emile de Antonio's documentary Painters Painting (1972), portraying the New York art scene.
Poons also appeared as a character in the contemporary documentary film "Acquitted:A True Story About Fake Art,"(Made You Look: A True Story About Fake Art, 2020), which depicts the behind-the-scenes of the largest art forgery scandal in the United States.
The film shows Poons as an elderly painter, withdrawn from artistic life, creating in the privacy of his atelier.
